A Girl’s Perspective
The Hitcher (2007)
Sean Bean, Sophia Bush
Rated R
Never again will I see a hitchhiker as an innocent person! They are all guilty now, thank you Hollywood!
I have a love-hate relationship with horror movies. I love to only hear them. I watched the Hitcher while peering through my fingers. My husband has a love-hate relationships with scary movies as well. While watching this movie he sustained several injuries from my terror, but loved the fact I was all snuggled up to him. After the groin kick, we may have to put a seat between us next time.
I didn’t know the Hitcher was a remake, so the plot was original to me (I know, where have I been?). I thought it was a pretty good scary movie- if you think good means horrifying and gory. You had a general idea of what was coming, but the plot just kept throwing more murder and gore at you. And of course, The Hitcher, like all horror movies, is based on the making of many bad decisions at which the entire theater audience groans. It was a predictably scary but semi-plausible movie that makes you think twice before picking up even an old lady on the side of the road. *** |
